Let It Go

Let It Go

Of course we don’t want to let it go. It’s ours now. It doesn’t matter if it’s good or bad. We own it.

Letting it go means we would have to change, to be uncomfortable again.

Letting it go means there’s space for something new and maybe something worse.

So we hold on. We try to live with it. But over time. It weighs us down. We stand still.

And you know what happens to those who stand still.

This post resonates with me both personally and professionally and it is a tough thing to grasp. Letting go is not easy because you just don’t know what will happen next. You dive into the unknown which is scary but exciting.

I do like to think positively though and think that what’s coming next will be better instead of thinking that it might be worse. Why would you steer your brain to think what’s coming next for you will be worse than what you’re letting go of? Why wouldn’t you think you’d learn from your mistakes and struggles and make better decisions next time to make for a more positive experience.

Of course, it doesn’t always happen that way. Sometimes the next thing coming for us is worse, but it only hurts us to EXPECT that it might be worse…because if we expect something to be worse, why go in that direction in the first place?

You’re spot on with where the focus ought to be. But that pesky lizard brain will often speak up. If you can dance with it, awesome!
