I was out with a friend earlier and was reminded of a universal truth.
“That’s life. You’ve gotta have the door slammed in your face a few times.”
In another moment with a president of a marketing firm, he was sharing the times in his career he was most proud of. Two of the four experiences he shared were door-slamming moments when he was dealt a poor hand and had to face adversity.
It’s true that some of the positive experiences we have have a positive influence on us. More often than not, though, it’s the negative experiences that have the most positive impact.

Obstacles are all part of the journey, right? Really obstacles ARE the journey. Might as well embrace them.
But on the same note…it’s not smart to go looking for slammed doors and obstacles. They’ll come on their own while we’re looking for positive experiences.
Learn, grow, have fun, repeat.
True. It comes with the change you’re trying to make in the world. It’s the yin with the yang, but always better to focus on having more positive experiences. Hopes up high. Head down low.
