Culture can be evaluated by the pronouns used and it has no limits to how inclusive it can become.
Employees can say we. Customers can, too. The pronouns prove a sense of camaraderie and tribalism.
The more you hear “I” and “they,” the more room there is for cultural improvement.
Note: The solution may not be to ditch the culture for another. It may be to do what you can to elevate it. There’s no “we” until there someone that others want to be “we” with.
