Saying it’s complicated isn’t meant to be an excuse or a way out.
It’s a challenge.
A challenge to simplify; to uncomplicate it; to push through until it’s clear.

Why Try To Get Out Of Your Box, When You Can Use What's In It?

One thing is clear about those who add value to a project, bring energy into the room, create something remarkable.
They make it so by getting after it until they do.
It might mean pivoting tactics. It might mean asking for help. It might mean breaking the status quo. But most importantly it means they don’t stop.
Whatever it is they’re after, they make it so.

A word of advice on prioritization: you’ll be respected for having a top priority. Maybe it’s work or a hobby or a mentee or family.
However, when talking to others about your priority; they will only see it as important if it helps or benefits them.
My solution is to shift language from priority to mission. When you’re on a mission, it’s almost always about helping others.
Now that you’re in that mindset, you only need to figure out how those you’re talking to can or are being helped from your mission.
Prioritization has always been a game. Changing the framing is a sure way to get better at winning it.

Leaping feels scary as hell. It’s full of uncertainty.
Yet when we look back at those moments that felt like leaps at the time, it’s clear they were just another step.
The next time you feel like you’re leaping, it may be worth pausing to remember that it’s more a feeling than reality.
You’ll find a bit of that trepidation disappears in doing so.

For a business to succeed, it needs two types of personal-ness.
The first is personalization. How can you adapt your offering for those who come to you? What tweaks can you make for it to become unique? How do you differ guest interactions?
The second is personality. How can you bring the best, smartest most sincere energy to the customer? What can you do to alter your staff training so guests feel seen as human from everyone who serves them?

Hope isn’t strong enough for attracting what or who we’d like.
That result requires design, attention, action and care.
But first, it requires knowing what or who we’d like to attract.
Once we know, we can start to be that for others.
Want to make a friend? Be a friend. Want to be loved? Love first and more. Want your business to have people who talk about politics? Talk politics. Want too attract the avant-garde? Be the avant-garde.
Then once you’re it. Surround yourself with more of it.

Not everything in life is like a sheet of glass and a rock; it’s much more difficult to breakthrough.
The meaningful work requires a lot of swings at the bat, it requires a lot of empathy – repeated.
In short, breakthroughs happen as a result of consistently showing up again and again and again.
And breakthroughs don’t just need to be about the work either. They can be about the people and earning their trust, too.
You’ll likely make some incredible friends this way.
