One could say that we’re all just cleaning and organizing and focusing.
Every day. On repeat. Drip by drip.
Once you’re done with one space, it’s on to the next.

People love switching up the routes.
They love asking for changes.
Nitpicking to make something .005% better.
The best action you can take is to outpace their requests.
To ship the work when it’s ready, not when it’s merely stronger by an unnoticeable amount.
To begin working on more meaningful work so they see the upcoming potential value of what’s in motion rather than the subtle increase of past work.
To run with vigor and passion and a care for those who would also be dragged down if you were to hang back on the same route you’ve been on.
Keep running anew. We’re depending on it.

Every marketer, owner, impresario is telling a story to someone.
It’s proven, however, that the story is far more effective if it’s one already expressed by “the other.”
If it’s the story she is telling herself, then of course she’ll choose you.
If it’s not the story she is telling herself, you’ll have a far more difficult time getting her attention and even more difficulty getting a sale.
The best option you have is to act as a soundboard for other people’s motivations (stories) and express your offer in a way that aligns with them.
Far better, easier, more powerful to reflect than it is to rescind a story.

There’s little that’s more relatable than doing something for the first time.
It’s uncomfortable. It fills us with uncertainty. We’re just trying to figure things out.
And everyone knows it because they’ve been in that place before.
You’re never going to have people more forgiving of mistakes than when it’s you trying to do something for the first time.
All the more reason to keep trying new things.

Comparing is about as helpful as adding a tablespoon of salt to a lake to make it a saltwater lake.
You get the satisfaction of being right, but it doesn’t quite matter to your overall mission.
Plus, it’s as easy to compare two things to make you happy as it is to make you sad.
That lake compared to your cup of tap water is much saltier, but compared to the ocean …
Better to focus more on why you started on your journey and if you’re making more of an impact than you were a month ago then it is to compare to another’s journey.
There’s no merit in relating your chapter 5 to someone else’s chapter 25.
