Crunch Time And Passion

Thrashing Passion

Two elements make for some fantastic work.

People (you) do remarkable when they thrash. You know, the surge of focused energy you have moments before a deadline–that’s thrashing. Fortunately for us, we can set our own deadlines.

People (you) also do remarkable work when they’re passionate about it. You know, that combined feeling of difficult and ease–that’s the sweet spot. Fortunately for us, we can choose our passion.

If you’re concerned about the quality of work you’re doing (or if you’re wasting time on other unnecessary things *ahem* procrastinating), tighten your delivery window and pick up your passion.

More Active

Fitting The Story

See more than be seen.

Listen more than hope you’re heard.

Give more than you wait to be asked.

People don’t want to be interrupted and they don’t want to do the interrupting. They want to know they’ve been listened to, that they’re understood, that you’re on their team.

Processing

Processing

People like things that are easy.

Rather, they like things that seem easy.

They love overnight successes (which never truly are).

But most importantly, they appreciate the process that makes a project seem easy.

That means when you don’t show your journey, you’re missing out on customer satisfaction. To watch the process is what makes it all seem easy.

The destination may seem obvious, but it’s more exciting than a surprise.

What’ll You Do With The Time

Freedom To Art

You’ve got bandwidth, finally, and you’ve got an option.

Do what you’ve waited to have bandwidth to do or use the time as rationale to recharge.

Before you decide, ask yourself which path will end with you feeling more fulfilled?

Enough Ideas

Enough Ideas

I’m most certain you haven’t come up with enough ideas.

Whether you’re trying to get something to work for the first time or get it working better than before, there’s an idea that can help.

The quickest way to a good idea is to keep coming up with them until there are enough.

Enough that work together, enough that can be combined, enough that you have a discard pile to view later, enough that someone sees your passion and lends you theirs, enough that you feel satisfied rather than defeated.

When in doubt, more ideas.

Holding On

Holding On

Our shoulders can only carry so much.

Our bags can only pack so much.

Our hands can only hold so much.

When we hold on to disappointments, grudges, and sad moments, we take up space for more important moments, emotions and treasures.
