Down time is a great unclaimed treasure of modern life. Most of us treat it like lint—something to brush away, fill, or hide under productivity. Yet it’s in those still pockets of time that life quietly takes your pulse.
When you stop filling every gap with screens and to-dos, the air changes. Thoughts you’ve ignored stretch their legs. Your imagination loosens its tie. That half-baked idea, that long-avoided truth, that flickering reminder to reconnect with someone you haven’t in awhile…they all start sidling back in to your life.
It’s a silly thing. Smiles tend to sneak in when nothing’s scheduled.
