Doing things for the money leads to a lack of authenticity and connection.
There are risks at large that may not exist if you were to do it for something else; say a guest experience or because what you’re doing helps change the culture.
Money isn’t a fair rationale if your goal is to make an impact on the world.
Certainly it’s a byproduct, but not one to base customer interaction decisions on, cut corners on or use as an excuse when the consequences of doing things for the money becomes real.
