What would it take for the idea to work?
How can you turn the work into an investment and not an expense of time?
What if we did X or Y or Z to make the project happen?
It’s far too easy to say no, to shrug an idea off and be a critic of a project.
Maybe the idea won’t work, and the work isn’t worth the investment and the project should never happen, but let’s at least move forward with heart.
