Having empathy isn’t about sharing your story of struggle.
Everyone has one (or multiple).
It’s not about swinging their vote by sharing how you’re lonely because everyone is a bit lonely and wants people to come to their side, too.
Nor is it about showing your passion for something. Everyone has a passion for something, even if it’s not immediately noticeable.
Having empathy is about reveling in the emotions and stories others are telling themselves.
It’s not about sharing your stories and telling them how you want them to feel.
