Re-Explore

You may have tried something already … but that was the past.

Is there a different way to go about it?

Is there someone else you can involve?

Have some external variables changed?

The fact something didn’t work before doesn’t always indicate it won’t work again.

When you bring old ideas to the table, you now have two things: a new challenge to ideate around those and simply more ideas.

The more you have, the likelier you are to strike gold.

You’ll be surprised how much gold you’ll find in old boulders.

If Given The Option

If you were given the option to be chatty with your hygienist or not…

If you were given the option to be pissed off at a slow driver or not…

If you were given the option to do a light workout or not…

Everything that adds or takes from our lives is an option; an option we can choose today.

An option we get to choose tomorrow too.

Stay Positive & What’ll It Be?

More Competition Please

Books sell just fine with hundreds of other books around them.

There’s four breweries within a mile from each other in a neighborhood near me. They sell beer just fine.

Competition creates a destination – not only for loyal fans but for the curious and those who want convenience of adventure.

It puts your perception at an advantage as well: if you’re a record that is with a thousand other records, it sends the signal that you’ve got what it takes to be considered with the thousand others.

More competition may just be your winning advantage.

Been There, Saw That

Been there and done that is critical to learning how you can go there and do it better.

But before being there and doing that, it’s vital to go there and see it.

Gather ideas. See where the bar is set. Give yourself an advantage when you first start to do rather than observe.

Stay Positive & It’s How You Go From Taking A Step To Taking A Leap

It Gets You Going

There’s no default setting that gets you going when your dog breaks something in your house.

Nothing dictates that you get going when some accident happens.

You decide in that moment how to feel and respond.

Same can be said for work matters. Or how you feel about not having spent any time on your project today.

What gets us riled up and motivated is what we decide gets us riled up and motivated.

Stay Positive & What’ll You Decide Today?

Mental Preparation

Preparing for a meeting. Preparing for work to be done. Preparing for a launch.

It all takes time. Strategy. Resources. A team.

But I’d argue that it takes more energy and ought to take more time to mentally prepare.

Mentally prepare for the challenging questions you’ll face. Mentally prepare for success and failure. Mentally prepare for the emotional labor at bay.

Any prep you do, factor 2x for the mental preparation to go along with it.

Stay Positive & Are You Ready? Mentally Ready?

No Shame

Imagine that you were going to get made fun of with either decision you make.

Or consider that you’ll upset someone with the choice you make.

How about how someone will inevitably disagree with the move you make, regardless of the move.

Someone will be disappointed.

Once you accept these conditions, it makes deciding easier. Deciding what’s right because it’s right; not because of what someone else will think/feel/react/etc.
