Most good work is thankless work. Not completely, but certainly more thankless than any of us doing the meaningful work would have hoped.
That’s why it’s vital to notice the impact you’re making, measure results and give yourself thanks for a job continuously well done.
And when those emails come through or pats on the back do happen, treasure them. By nature they will be few and far between.
Then again, the thanks isn’t why we do the work anyway, is it?
