Most customers aren’t there for your product; they’re there for something else.
And the only way to learn what that something else is is to connect with them, listen to them, see them.
Quick example of a couple at a bar. They’re not there just to buy a couple of beers, but you wouldn’t know without asking “what brings you in today?”
Rather, they are there because they haven’t had a date together in two months.
So the switch needs to happen from how to serve them beers to how to elevate their date. Doing so makes them feel seen and feeling seen feels good.
