Posts, Apps, And More
Below is a collection of the most-viewed posts of the year on GarthBox beside my individual pages. Below the top posts I threw together some of my favorite blog posts. Then I share some of my favorite apps I’ve used. I wrap things up with some extra content you may have missed throughout the year.
Top posts:
- You need a sexy website revamp
- Why we’re so indecisive and how to make smart decisions
- After years of arguing it
- 10 ways to make a difference
- Getting started in freelance PR
My picks:
- Reaching the market outside your home town
- In a glass please
- The worst way to get new customers
- Do you realize that
- Hurry to the edge
- Why PR blogging isn’t dead (published on PR daily)
- For more I would say August was the month with my richest material, you can start reading here and hit “older posts” when you reach the bottom
Apps
- It took some getting used to, but it’s nice to have all my notes in one place. With Evernote, I get that. I’d say it’s easy to use if you’re starting from scratch, but it takes a long time to transfer all your current notes to it and then to sort them.
- GroupMe is great for group texts and emojis.
- I still use Pandora on my phone and Spotify on my computer. Each use slightly different logic to choose what songs to play on a radio station. It keeps the music variety alive.
- If you’ve stressed about getting a blog post published on WordPress while you’re traveling and don’t have a computer with you or you just lack WiFi: the WordPress app is extremely easy to use. Instead of struggling to find time or a location to write your blog post, just write it on your phone and ship it.
- I’m not a fan of Facetime so I use Hangouts. My clients seemed to like Google Hangouts and the app made it possible for me to see my dad and extended family on Christmas day. Also did a live recording using Hangouts.
- I’m picky when it comes to apps, and I only download ones I will use on a regular basis. This means there are a lot of little good apps out there, so it might be best to search elsewhere for great apps unless you want to keep your life simple like me.
Bonus:
- I regularly collected and posted all the really good readings or videos I watched that I learned valuable lessons from. Some of the stuff I just thought was really cool and wanted to share. You can see all my assorted links lists here.
- And don’t forget the book I wrote. It’s a $400 business seminar for just $3.99
- My radio bit for aspiring writers, PR pros and artists
