(Q) Your writing is sometimes confusing.

Yea, it is. Oddly enough, there are times that I write something that’s even a bit confusing to me. Later on though, I read it again and it makes sense. Part of me wants to say that if something sounds confusing it means that now is just not the time to understand it or there are some borders stopping you from understanding it.

Not all writing can be clear. I view most writing as I do poetry, it’s not up to the author to decide what a poem means for someone, it’s up to the reader to decide what the poem means to them, which is why I study people as much as I do the lessons I share.

Next time you get confused while reading, don’t ask yourself “what did the writer want me to get out of this,” ask “what can this mean for me,” if you still can’t answer that question, ask yourself, “what would I need to go do to be the person this message was directed at?” Often times, you can mentally put on someone else’s shoes.

Always, though, I suggest you get out and experience, expose yourself more. I write about being human. Everything comes from my experiences. If you don’t understand something, it’s more likely that you haven’t experienced what I have or near it. Go give it a try, you might learn more than me. And when you do, shoot me a message and tell me about it. When the teacher ceases to also be a student, education loses it’s value.

(Q) How do you decide what to write on?

There are two ways I do this. The first is that I will write on anything that moves me, anything I’m passionate about or curious about. This is a natural inclination of anyone who puts the pen to paper. It’s why everyone seeking their passion should first start journaling their thoughts at the end of the night. I also know passion matters when someone reads something. Why share anything that is void of it?

The second way I decide what to write on is when I need to challenge or remind myself of a lesson. Luckily, this also falls under the passionate category, but this writing is the most difficult because it revolves around my own failures, mistakes, and I have to exercise humility, which is hard. On top of that, when I suggest a reader does something some way, I commit to do it myself that way. I’ve always been a person that is respected for practicing what I preach and I use that to my advantage, both in my life and in my writing.

I do my best to freewrite each day for 15 minutes straight. Sometimes something worthy comes out of it that I think of elaborating more on the next day on my blog. However, I don’t go back to look at what I wrote in my journal. If it’s worthy, I’ll remember it. I also freewrite to get all my rants and stupid content out of my head. It’s easier to write (more so easier to read) work that isn’t all lovey-dovey or too personal or full of rage or flat-out not relevant to your audience, it’s sort of a filter, time for reflection.

People say think before you speak, journaling to me is my time to think before I write publicly. At a writing conference I was at last year, Roy Hoffman had a workshop on keeping a journal and what to do with it. For him, he often returns to his journal entries for writing inspiration, to use what he’s written. This has worked successfully for him, but I do the opposite. I don’t read anything I’ve written in the journal. The point: How we use the journal isn’t as important as that we use a journal.

(Q) I want to start my own blog, what should I do or use? How do I attract visitors and interactions?

It took me more than three months to start my blog. I thought about it a lot. In that time period I even started a blog at Blogger. I couldn’t stand that platform. Then I researched great places to start blogs and found WordPress. Go to WordPress and create your own blog. Once you have your blog. Write. It’s going to be shit. Post your writings anyway. Everybody poops, your bad writing makes you human.

Keep writing and posting your content. Open your mind up during the day for ideas on what to write about. Edit your writing to make it great, but not perfect. Don’t let edits take longer than 10 minutes. Making it perfect is a waste of time. For the most part, forget attracting visitors. For every blog post you make, go comment on two others, hopefully who have written on something like what you wrote about.

When in doubt, stop focusing on how to attract visitors and look at what visitors attract you, interact with them. Find people you care about. They’ll have friends.

Oh yea, and never look at your stats. The data won’t change your actions.

(Q) Where do I start?

This is one of the most feared questions to ask simply because getting an answer means that you now have to act, and you are finally being held accountable by the person telling you where to start.

The beauty about starting? You can do it anywhere. You can start in your journal. You can start in your car. You can start in school. You can start whenever, wherever, and however. When someone asks me where do I start? I can only reply with, “You choose. Start buttons are everywhere.”

(Q) What is the purpose of life?

I can provide a thousand to four word response to this question: to play, to challenge your fears, to love one another… but at the end of all my responses, what do they add up to? Life.

The purpose of life is to live it, live it with every bit of energy you have and every thought, smile, tear, and wiggle of your toes.

If we go through life wondering what the purpose of it is, trying to find our own, you may find a purpose, but you will have lost life. So to answer your question, no purpose, just life. Or as my friend best puts it, “Why question a beautiful thing?”

(Q) What if it’s something I don’t have control over?

The hardest thing I ever have to do is get people to understand they can’t have complete control over anything but themselves.

However, you can have influence, persuasion, and compassion for or on others.

It’s an all too common thing to give up on something you think you don’t have control over. Ever heard of the saying “if there’s a will, there’s a way?” No point in telling that to someone who believes they are “out of luck and out of control.” The extremely difficult part is getting someone to understand that if they are not willing to find a way, then what they want isn’t worth it.

Control is sticky. The moment someone says “well that’s it, I don’t have any control over that answer.” They get themselves stuck. I suppose they think it’s the perfect excuse to not do anything. Instead of moving on to something else, they stay stuck there, waiting to get a bit of control. Maybe things will change? That’s easier and safer than trying to make it work or just moving on to something else. Instead of using will to find a better way, find a better problem. Find something else. Get unstuck.

(Q) What is your biggest regret?

A lovely friend of mine tweeted the other day “What’s worse than fear? Regret.” A second friend of mine jumped it to tweet “Trying to steer away from regret is just as bad as hating yourself for having it.” In the end I tweeted back, “suppose the only good thing to do with it then is to dance with it.”

People who say they don’t have regrets are masking them. You can be completely thankful for everything that has happened in your life and you can be happy where you’re at in this moment – I sure am – but that doesn’t mean we don’t have regrets. We can say one thing, think another, and still feel something completely different. That’s why my regrets are from times when I didn’t follow my heart.

(Q) I can’t seem to follow all the way through with anything. What should I do?

I’ve been told that I get a lot of shit done. I write a lot about finishing tasks, shipping projects, completing goals. I do so because it’s the most exciting part. I want to apologize for not writing more about the importance of starting. I have recently erased everything on my chalkboard and wrote two things since: 1. Set goals. 2. Start goals. That’s it. Simple as that. The final touches, the shipping of your products will happen on their own. The greatest of writers threw away thousands of pieces of their work. They will finish and ship something when they feel it. You’ll feel it, but don’t worry about that just yet. Set goals and start goals.

(Q) How can I forget? (failures, relationships, mistakes, poor decisions, etc.)

Asking how to forget is just another way to remember. Don’t.

(Q) What was the dumbest thing you believed in?

That people would rather you hold back the truth and just be nice. I believed that you couldn’t be straightforward with people because they would hate you for it, that you would come off as being a jerk. Then, the more people I talked to about life and their problems and concerns and questions, or anything, I am more forward and honest in my responses than ever before. If someone says they are broke, I don’t just say get a job. I tell them every reason they won’t get a job. I tell them all their fears and worries so they have to face them. I believed enabling was a positive action. When in reality, people like you more when you are thoroughly honest, when you care so much to understand and nudge them in the right direction. Call things as you see them, just make sure you do it sincerely. If you can’t do it sincerely, don’t do it at all.

Ebb And Flow Of Information For Creativity’s Sake

I used to visit 20 websites, watch five or so videos and listen to at least two podcast episodes a day. I would say, on average, I spent about 2.5 to 3 hours taking in information for creativity’s sake. Heck, I needed more blog post ideas. Or so I thought.

For the start of 2015, I took all my online information sources, put them in a single Evernote, and haven’t really touched them since. To my surprise, it hasn’t been my downfall.

I still show up and blog every day. I still have thought-provoking conversations with friends and colleagues. I still have a steady flow of creative ideas that I document or ship. I still manage to hear and learn about the latest trends.

I’ve ignored the signals in my brain pressuring me to read more, digest more, learn more, absorb more. Instead, I realized by doing more, I’m learning just as much, but also have creative work to show for it.

Information only gets you so far. Sometimes it doesn’t get you anywhere.

Unlocking Potential #15: Q&A With Donna White

Donna WhiteOnce you’re on a social platform long enough, you get to see the changes and improvements people make in their lives. You get to see some people transition to becoming a linchpin.

Donna White, when we started following each other on Twitter, was making a name for herself. Now she’s regularly writing at PrimeTime and making a positive ruckus in the world of PR.

I’m happy to have her as the 15th participant of my Unlocking Potential series.

Without further ado, welcome, Donna.

Q: What’s Prime Time all about? What inspired you to pursue PR?

Donna: I wanted to be a journalist so studied it at university, but quickly discovered that I didn’t have the personality to survive any trash talk from a newsroom editor. What can I say? I’m a positive person. So, flicking through Guardian Media jobs in desperation, I came across a graduate position at a PR agency. It required creativity, communication and people skills – the same things I’d been studying for. So I took the plunge and, four interviews later, I got the job. A hop, skip and a jump later into in-house comms for a UK charity, I’ve recently switched over to digital marketing.

Prime Time started because I love writing and had lots of opinions about the industry and new campaigns that I wanted to comment on without securing approval from managers, directors and clients. It was my personal space where I could test my ideas – and set myself up as a PR champion and influencer. Two years later my baby is in its terrible twos and still going strong. #Proud.

Q: How might people be viewing PR wrong? Why would anyone think ill of such an amazing profession?

Donna: Anyone who thinks PR is service which should be viewed in isolation is clearly mistaken. It only works to its full potential when complemented with marketing and digital.

Integration is key and if brands are using multiple agencies for various campaign components, they should be clear on ways of working. Failing this, just hire a fully-integrated agency. See Q10 below for more details.

Q: What marketing advice do you find yourself giving most often?

Donna: Ensure your brand has criteria as to what conversations it should and shouldn’t get involved with – aka if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it at all!

American Apparel and GAP never cease to amaze me that they risk their reputation for a cheap tweet.

Also, don’t leave social media to your juniors unless they’re well-trained and trustworthy. It’s a series of mini windows into your brand values and, given enough chances, people will look. Don’t let them catch you undressed.

Q: I was chatting with a friend the other day reminiscing about a time when PR was all publicity and then the story of PR turning into an integrative effort. It’s pretty clear PR is an ever shifting definition. Where do you see PR just a few years from now? Will social media be at the helm? Will we return to more publicity stunts instead of strategy?

Donna: In a few years time it won’t matter what department ‘content’ is coming from, as long as brands have plenty of it and a plan to share it with the world. PR will still have its place – otherwise I’m out of a blog – but it won’t be execs selling in pretty press releases to journalists who don’t want to know. It’ll be organisations with shared values teaming up to create a bigger story that shifts people’s perceptions, attitudes and actions. A bigger splash in the pool.

Having said that, although people are becoming tired of stunts (‘Oh, is that a pair of Paddy Power pants in the air advertising betting on the Grand National? Yawn’), they’re still changing the algorithm of the industry by evoking some sort of  emotion. But, once you’ve got everyone’s attention you have to cultivate that interest someway – and long-term strategies are key.

With regards to social, despite networks offering advertising, these platforms work best when used by agencies for organic quick wins: launching hashtags, sharing stories and getting involved in bigger conversations. There’s still a sense of achievement of stumbling upon a neat tweet and sharing it amongst your friends / peers.

Q: How can brands get a grip on social media? Can you use a brand and one platform as an example?

Donna: It’s important for brands to understand that not every social media platform is relevant for them. I’d much prefer to see a brand I love showing off great social skills on one channel, rather than a few poorly.

What’s really made me smile in the last few months is the idea of ‘insane honesty’.

Take US diner chain Arby’s for example. When it accidentally forgot to feature Pepsi in one of its adverts, it quickly released an additional video apologising for its mistake. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and makes the most of the opportunity to great effect. The proof in the pudding – it scored more than 1.5m YouTube views in a week.

Q: What’s a brand you’re in love with? Why?

Donna: I love to hate Lego. I can’t remember exactly how the love-hate relationship began. It probably started blocking up my news feeds with smarmy stunts. But, my personal feelings (jealously mostly) aside, I have to salute its communications team. It’s developed a rhythm for reactive PR and is fab at seeking out opportunities. Why? It’s secure enough in its brand to have some fun with it. Yes, the Lego bricks will always have to have certain dimensions, colours and perceptions. But, the boss doesn’t have a cow when these things are ever-so-slightly manipulated It understands that UGC is a pleasure worth any pain.

For want of a cliché it operates firmly outside the Lego house.

How many brands are confident enough to turn a complaint from a seven-year old girl into a compliment – by releasing a range of inspirational female figures? It’s probably the same as the number of brands which can create a BAFTA-winning self-titled movie.

Q: What advice would you give to someone wanting to be a PR pro?

Donna: Don’t forget to PR yourself. Find your niche. and own it. Whether it’s social media tips, a great relationship with a national journalist or in-depth knowledge of a specialist sector, position yourself as the go-to person and share your accomplishments when it all falls into place – for the clients or your business.

Q: Do you have a few life lessons you learned from your work in PR?

Donna: Don’t be intimidated by your position:

Have an idea or want to critique your client’s strategy but you’re just a junior in the company? It doesn’t matter. Ok, don’t shout it out during a crucial pitch, but find someone in the agency who you trust and be open with them. It’ll not only show you’re engaged and invested in the project, but will boost your profile. Even if nothing comes of it, I believe a CEO and a junior should be able to have a productive conversation. After all, we’re just PRs.

There’s been times when I’ve had that gut feeling to speak up and either missed the opportunity to speak up or didn’t communicate my point clearly. I remember in the first few weeks of my first PR job, I was involved in a government health campaign pitch prep workshop and the idea the seniors were leaning towards didn’t feel right. I broke up the conversation which took place around a large conference table, commented and it was dismissed because ‘what did I know?’ We lost the pitch but it didn’t matter to me. I’d stayed true to myself.

I wished I’d remembered that money when – fast forward a few years at a new agency – I’d made a fool of myself selling in a non story (roast dinners rarely make the news) at the request of my boss who hadn’t completed a sale in years. I knew it wasn’t a productive use of my time and the angle wasn’t working but didn’t speak up. So I not only damaged some journalist relationships by sounds like a plonker on the phone but also found it hard to justify my results.

Invited to a meeting but not sure why? 

Talk to your boss and ask them what you can present, share or ask in the meeting. If you can’t do things, explain you’ll be taking notes. You want people to know you’re not just there for the tea and biscuits.

It’s PR, not ER:

As far as I know, no one’s ever died from an incorrect press release or missed coverage opportunity. Take your job seriously, of course, but don’t take it home with you.

Q: What are some habits you have that keep you ahead of the marketing game? 

Donna: I follow the trail to see the bigger picture. If I spot a unique campaign on one of the 20 national, industry or blog sites that I read most days, I’ll research what people are saying about it and do some digging as to whether the agency has simply recycled an idea or has pushed the boundaries. It takes time but it makes my blog arguments stronger.

Q: Would you tell us a story of when a risk you took ended up becoming a success of yours?

Donna: Last year I left a permanent agency role for an in-house temporary contract at a national charity. It meant stepping down from a management role but I believed in the charity’s vision.

I went in there with nothing to lose but one goal: do the job (slightly) better than my predecessor.

I used my agency experience to create strategy documents and PR plans they’d not seen in a while and, when the chance came up to squeeze a digital internship into my day job I took it. It showed I was passionate and helpful, at the cost of a few early mornings and late nights.

But, that was my stepping stone to make it into digital. Now, I have two core skills under my belt. No looking back.

Q: If you had unlimited resources and time what would you do?

Donna: I’d work for myself and start my own consultancy: Prime Time.

It would (no, it will) offer clients an integrated service – PR, marketing, digital etc. But, to add jam to our bread and butter, we’ll have freelance PRs and copywriters to hire out and a recruitment division to ensure we’re introducing an outstanding range of diverse individuals to the fold.

Being a mixed race woman in any sector isn’t easy. I always want to champion diversity, equality and rising stars.

Storytelling, Transparency and Relatability

I know what my story is.

Correction: I thought I knew what my story was until I got an email a couple of days ago.

Gary Vaynerchuck is the man. I loved his book Jab Jab Jab Right Hook and I took his Skillshare class about a week ago. During the class he told his students (me) to email a few others and ask them what they think our story is.

I’ve written that the best way to know what you’re great at is to ask people you’ve worked with what they think you’re great at. Same concept, but this time I’m asking about my story, not my skills. I sent four emails out and got one reply yesterday. Here it is.

What's My Story

TL;DR I might have the knowledge of a 30-year-old, but I don’t have the experience, and you must have the experience to have a story.

I love Tim. His bluntness is what I look for in people who I surround myself with. Just tell me how it is, be forward, that’s how I can best learn and process what my next move will be.

When I sent the email asking about my story, I was expecting positive responses, perhaps flat-out praise. I didn’t think it would turn out like this. I sat and talked to my girlfriend about it. Here. Listen. It starts with Briana asking me about my blog stats to try to make the point that my writing has gotten less relatable… fear not, my stats haven’t changed, but that’s not really a good thing either, is it?

I hope this post is transparent enough. It’s my life… doing these things that make me uncomfortable is how I’ve expanded my comfort zone as far as I have.

For those who are interested, the interview went smoothly because I walked in there knowing I have done all I could to get the job, it was comforting enough knowing that. It made things easier.

I still choked on my saliva, spoke too fast at moments, and sweated a lot – all inevitable.

I got the job. When you truly try your best, you’ll get what you want – that’s inevitable too.

Unlocking Potential #13: Q&A With Ryan Paugh

When researching for a story centered on entrepreneurs under 30, a friend connected me with Ryan Paugh. At the time, Ryan was at Brazen Careerist writing, speaking and preaching about career-management. He was big into entrepreneurship… still is.

Like all the others on the unlocking potential series, Ryan is a linchpin. He is the source, the center of many entrepreneurial circles, providing resources and connecting people just as my friend connected me with him.

Without further ado… welcome, Ryan.

Q: You’re known for building epic communities. What does an epic community look like to you?

Ryan: An epic community is one that can help you unlock any door in your industry or trade. For communities like YEC and FounderSociety, we aspire to help our members gain access to everything they need to grow successful businesses.

Q: How did you get to where you’re at now? What’s your story?

Ryan: This is very geeky, but blogging changed my life. After I graduated college I started a blog with one of my best friends about Gen Y entering the workforce. Through the blog came my first business, Brazen Careerist, which was a free community for Gen Y professionals seeking career happiness.

Q: What’s the best and worst parts of being an entrepreneur?

Ryan: The best part about being an entrepreneur is having control over your own destiny. The worst part about being an entrepreneur is the toll it takes on your personal life and the lack of stability.

Q: What gets you filled up with passion and ready to take on the world, to go the distance, to be in it for the long haul?

Ryan: My family. Now that I’m a father especially, I find that I’m more motivated to be successful than I have ever been. I want my family to live the best life possible. I want them to see me as their hero.

Q: What do you see people regularly failing to do while starting a business? What would you suggest they do differently?

Ryan: Spending too much time on one idea is a common startup killer. Most successful entrepreneurs will tell you that they didn’t get it right on the first try. They had to iterate on their existing idea to make it work.

Q: What are four hacks you can share? They can be about life, relationships, getting a job, starting a business, whatever you would like.

Hack #1. Invest in a virtual assistant and outsource work that takes away from building your business. Challenge yourself to delegate at least one new thing per week to your assistant.

Hack #2. Perfect is stupid. Come up with an idea for a business. Build the minimum viable product (MVP) as quickly as you can and get it to market. Iterate based on feedback from your early customers to get better.

Hack #3. Become an early riser or a night owl and you will get more accomplished than 99 percent of the population.

Hack #4. Take care of yourself. You physical and mental health are strongly linked to your success.

Q: Here’s an open-ended question for you: What are your thoughts on waiting?

Ryan: Don’t.

Q: What about failure?

Ryan: Embrace it.

Q: Would you tell us about a truly challenging time and how you got through it (or didn’t!)?

Ryan: Without going into too much detail, I had a health scare a couple months ago that left me feeling mentally paralyzed. It took weeks for me to feel better and get back to my business. The reason I was able to take the time off that I needed to recover was my amazing team. At some point in the future, you’re going to need to take some time off too and it will go a lot smoother if your company can operate with you missing. Being a great leader means learning how to delegate to your team and trust that they can get the job done. You should spend time early on in your career getting comfortable with this. You’ll thank yourself later.

Q: What are three lessons people should know about building a community?

  • Community businesses are are some of the most difficult businesses to run. I love what I do, but it’s not an easy road to riches. There are plenty of other avenues you could take to get rich quick
  • Great customer service can keep a paying customer loyal even when the product still needs work.
  • People will pay a premium for a concierge-level community experience.

Q: What makes an idea or a business or a person remarkable?

Ryan: Vulnerability. I’m drawn to people, ideas, and businesses that are not afraid to be what they are even if that might lead to them being criticized.

Q: Any last advice you want to give someone in marketing or someone who is thinking of starting a business?

Ryan: Share your ideas with as many people as possible.

Unlocking Potential #11: Q&A With John Saddington

I regularly write about the importance of being human, of momentum and of the need to continuously try new things. Top experimenter John Saddington is a living example of doing all the above.

John is linchpin who I recall wore a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle t-shirt to Seth Godin’s Pick Yourself event in Tribeca, and asked Seth a question about blogging platforms. It should have come as no surprise to me that John was asking for input because he was in the process of developing his new (and awesome!) blogging platform app, Desk.

John has been blogging for more than 14 years, so it goes without saying how much of a privilege it is to have him be part of this series. Without further ado, welcome John.

Q: You’re a hacker and a human. Tell us how you got into hacking. What’s your story?

John: Yes, that’s my tagline. I think it’s important to let others know that I am a human being. This is one of those “duh” statements but it carries a lot of personal importance to me. It means that I suffer and struggle with just as many things as the next person. But, I have “hacked” my way to a solution that works for me.

I will always be looking for more solutions to life, just as the next person, to ensure that I can survive and thrive in the limited amount of time that I have on planet earth.​

Q: What qualities are needed in a person for them to become successful hackers, humans, entrepreneurs? 

John: A willingness to experiment, be wrong, and fail. A desire to get help, all the time, and to stay humble. To be curious about learning new things and tenacious about not giving up. To be a person of integrity, honest, and true.​

Q: For this next question, I’m sure there are hundreds of answers, but just write about the first two or three that come to mind. What are some hacks you can share about entrepreneurship?

​John: Time box everything. What I mean by this is create a “start” and “end” point to all your experiments and projects. This helps create momentum and helps you establish objective markers for whether or not it’s actually working.

Secondly, get help. Do more things with others and less alone.​

Q: Tell us a bit about Desk PM: How did you go about strategizing a publishing app so it would be as successful as it is? What sort of questions did you ask and answer before you built and shipped the app?

John: There wasn’t a strategy. It was luck and a long marinating process (over 12 years) as I thought about this application as it tied so closely to my writing and blogging over the last 14 years. Then, I executed. That’s about it. I didn’t deliberate or try to do massive planning or anything like that. The only question that I asked was this (and one that I continue to ask): Do I still love this app? Am I using it every single day?

If the answer ever becomes “No” then I’ve lost the original vision and I should throw it all away.​

Q: What’s the most recent big decision you’ve had to make and how did you rationalize your decision?

John: The biggest decision recently was to join with some friends to work @ The Iron Yard.​ This was the culmination of long-standing relationships and a deep love for education (I got a Masters in Education). I joined them full-time in late 2013.

Q: Would you mind sharing one of your biggest failures and how you worked past it or what you learned from it?

John: I raised ~ $300,000 and spent much more than that on a failed iOS app that netted, over a two year period, just north of $1,300 dollars. I am still learning from this fiscal failure of an app and project. I am still recovering. I wrote a few things here.​

Q: Who and where do you go to for motivation? Any particular mentors or bloggers?

John: I go to my friends and most importantly my wife and kids. I find a ton of motivation in my quiet times as I reflect on spiritual topics, God, and through meditation.​

Q: Perhaps there’s a couple quotes or life mottos you live by?

Q: What is the biggest challenge todays entrepreneurs are faced with? 

John: I’m not sure. Does that matter?​

Q: This one might be a toughie, answer however you would like. What does it take to create something remarkable?

John: It starts with a decision to pursue it and then it requires the courage to not quit.​

Usefulness Is What’s Remarkable, Not Constant Content

Remarkably Useful

Content isn’t king, usefulness is.

You can tell an amazing childhood story, and it might be great content, but it might not be useful.

Analyzing all the reasons iscream is better on a cone than in a bowl might be interesting, but it’s not useful.

You may think social media is the most important part of your business, but the truth of it lies in how you use it in a way that is useful for others, that solves their problems.

After all, that’s why anyone puts anything in a search bar: to find an answer to a problem.

Showcasing usefulness is where a lot of businesses, bloggers and PR pros miss out on their opportunity to connect with a new customer or client.

The web is definitely not short of storytellers, but is short of teachers, and even shorter of teachers who put their readers, their clients, their customers, their students first.

Is what you’re doing, creating, writing useful to others? Or is it just fluff, buzz and other stuff?

Something to ask before you create something or hit “publish”: what’s in it for them?
